About the Book
Introduction: Listening to Others, Hearing Ourselves
The debate on the changing family is fueled more by emotion
than fact. Through conversations with families in vastly different
settings, this work sets out to give voice to families themselves,
permitting them to speak candidly of the changes they are
seeing in family structure and relationships as we commence
the new Millennium. In setting out the intent of the book,
the author provides a brief description of each country visited,
and the challenges it faces. Each, so different one from another,
nonetheless raises issues common to all.
